Isabel Marant, Copenhagen

Located in the heart of Copenhagen, Isabel Marant's first Danish boutique is naturally inspired by Scandinavian organic modernism, developed by designers such as Arne Jacobsen and Alvar Aalto. Reinterpreting the codes of Danish functionalism from the second half of the 20th century, the agency has created a space with simple, elegant forms to showcase the designer's creations.

On one level, the sales area is built around a central element: the staircase. Designed and conceived as an architectural feature in its own right, it is the focal point of the boutique's interior layout. Its kinetic railing, composed of multiple full-height solid oak bars, helps to divide the Isabel Marant and Étoile collections. From there, the fitting room, interior garden, small lounge, and a long piece of furniture serving as a cash register, bench, and jewelry display area unfold in a smooth and continuous flow.

The choice of precious natural materials—turned wood, woven straw, chiseled travertine, and quilted vegetable-tanned leather—combined with rigorous craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail in the assembly, give the boutique a warm and comfortable atmosphere that is characteristic of the Nordic lifestyle. From the street, under large stone arches, four windows are partially obscured by travertine picture rails that play on the concept of “revealing to better show” and give the boutique a confident interior.
