Isabel Marant, San Francisco

Located on the ground floor of a building listed as a historic landmark in the city of San Francisco and a stone's throw from the famous Transamerica Pyramid, the store is spread over two spacious areas similar in size to those found in many exhibition venues.

This parallel gave rise to the idea of developing a boutique-gallery: the various elements of the boutique (fitting rooms, cash register, stock) are arranged within white-painted wooden volumes whose style is reminiscent of art transport crates. The tube lighting reinforces this approach and offers a new way of highlighting the clothing. The intervention on the envelope is intended to be light enough to leave room for sculptural objects, some of which are supported by the existing structure and divert it. These new supports are designed as artistic installations.

Developed in close collaboration with artisans, these unique pieces showcase skills such as ceramics and molding, and materials such as glazed stoneware, metal, and concrete.
