Versailles La Bruyère
The La Bruyère housing project comprises 19 buildings set in lush green surroundings, connected to Greater Paris by their proximity to the new Versailles Chantiers station.
As part of the rich architectural and landscape heritage of the former girls' boarding school dating from the early 20th century, the Franklin Azzi and Chartier Dalix agencies were invited to participate in an architectural dialogue, for which the Agency is renovating five existing buildings and designing four new residential buildings.
Playing on an organic spatial distribution that enhances exposure to nature, Franklin Azzi has opted for a hollow treatment of the volumes, with openings carved into the mass of the building. Windows, loggias and solariums offer views of the garden from an angle that preserves privacy while promoting dialogue with neighbouring plots.
