Ring Zero
With nearly 10 million inhabitants, Seoul is one of the most representative contemporary metropolises of today's big cities. Selected to host the third edition of the Architecture and Urban Planning Biennale, entitled "CROSSROADS Building the Resilient City," which explores the evolution of cities and metropolises around the world, Franklin Azzi presents a forward-looking installation on the concept of micro-architecture as a prototype for a more resilient city. A micro perspective challenging the macro, taking the megacity of Beijing as a reference point.
To deepen and enrich his thinking, the architect conducted several interviews with artists, creators, and designers who are from China or who develop practices related to the country: Xing Danwen, artist and photographer; Jing Jing (Naihan Li), designer; Huang Rui, painter, calligrapher, and performer; Jérôme Sans, curator of contemporary art exhibitions; Philip Tinari, writer, critic, curator, and director of the UCCA - Center for Contemporary Art; Enrico Ancilli, architect; Cao Dan, exhibition curator; and Sun Dawei, fashion designer.
