Renard, Technicolor headquarters

Located on Rue du Renard, the office building acquired by the COVEA Immobilier group has been renovated by Franklin Azzi Architecture and CALQ to become the new headquarters of the Technicolor group. The building, with a surface area of 8,500 m², is ideally located between the Centre Pompidou and the Hôtel de Ville and is of real “heritage” interest.

Franklin Azzi Architecture and CALQ worked together on this project to restore the building to its former glory. The agency in charge of the design wanted to restore the building to its “ideal state” by reworking the volumes of the atrium, the glass roof, and the office floors. The architecture was stripped back to its bare bones in order to bring it closer to the original design. Every superficial intervention was removed to purify the existing structure as much as possible and highlight the historical volumes and details. The old glass roof was removed in order to rebuild the original glass roof to the required height and provide the building with additional space. The atrium was also redesigned with the creation of walkways, allowing for new circulation routes and greater light into the office floors.
