AD MUSEUM

Franklin Azzi has designed a museum for Helsinki that is directly linked to its port history and natural landscape. Located on the seafront, the AD Museum unfolds like a mineral monolith connecting the port and Tähtitorninvuori Park, between city and nature. The project draws on the site's topography to create a landscaped forecourt that extends the rocky outcrops and vegetation into the heart of the building. An open-air canopy marks the entrance, guiding visitors to an open, cultural and inclusive space. Topped by a glass pavilion and a copper roof echoing the neighbouring cathedral, the museum offers a unique silhouette in the landscape. Designed as a social space, it offers modular spaces, a panoramic restaurant and a museum experience open to the city.
