Liaigre gallery
The Gallery is located in the heart of the antique dealers' and galleries' district, facing the banks of the Seine. Steeped in history, the plot between Quai Voltaire and Rue de Lille has undergone numerous changes and renovations since the 17th century. From an unfinished Theatine convent to artists' studios (Ingres and Delacroix had their studios here), the buildings have undergone many transformations over the centuries.
The building and the space in which the project is located are the result of several periods of construction: the façade on the quay was built in the 19th century, while the rear façade dates back to the 18th century. The inner courtyard dates back to the 17th century. The interior spaces, spread over two levels (a ground floor and a mezzanine floor), have been redesigned over time to meet the needs and uses of the most recent occupants: the Galerie Chevalier, which specializes in tapestry and has collaborated with the Louvre, among others.
