Port Boinot
The Port Boinot site, located in the former Boinot factories, the last remaining examples of leather goods and glove manufacturing in Niort, was a major hub of activity and employment during its heyday. Closely linked to the development and dynamism of the city, it represents an important part of the region's industrial and collective memory. Always separated from the city center, both by its purpose and its insularity, as well as by the east-west divide created by the Ponts-Main bridges, the goal is to breathe new life and appeal into the site through a redevelopment project with a contemporary feel.
This unusual island will thus become a new hub of activity, part of an expanded city center, extended by new soft transport links and new uses as Niort's cultural and tourist center.
