Architecture
Rothschild castle
The Franklin Azzi Agency offers a contemporary reinterpretation of the Castle, based on the existing structure, its ruins, and its successive transformations. Rather than a faithful restoration, the project embraces a superimposition of eras, revealing the stratigraphy of the site while asserting a new architecture in controlled contrast. Some parts of the ruins are preserved as they are. Others are activated by current uses, allowing the château to regain its rich programmatic potential: event venue or exceptional residence. The park, classified since 1952, is enhanced in a continuity between heritage and urban landscape. The project strengthens its link to the Seine, redesigns the terrace as a belvedere, and reintegrates the castle into the dynamics of the city. Contemporary housing completes the project. It extends the logic of the site without erasing its memory. The ensemble offers a respectful, evolutionary transformation, where heritage and uses come together in the present.
