Bourdon housing

In an urban fabric marked by a strong architectural identity, Franklin Azzi opted for an intervention that would provide continuity, without any formal or material breaks. The extension extends the existing façade and interacts with the adjacent buildings, in a spirit of slenderness and urban coherence. By retaining the original grid, the agency designed recesses that create outdoor spaces for the dwellings. The attic level, entirely glazed, features an accessible green roof terrace, providing a breathing space in the heart of the block. Each element of Haussmannian architecture has been revisited: the railings have been replaced by simple geometric balustrades, aluminium joinery has replaced wood, and traditional shutters have given way to metal louvres. The design remains deliberately discreet, in keeping with the overall balance.
