Designed by FAA, Isabel Marant new store is on Bruton Street, at the heart of London Mayfair district.
The store is located in a former art gallery, next to London’s other iconic stores: Stella McCartney, Matthew Williamson and Maison Martin Margiela.
The travertine façade – a distinctive feature of the original building – progressively enters the space, unveiling a window made of sliding and pivoting louvers. The space, dedicated to Arnold Goron’s temporary installations and sculptures, offers a subtle transition from outside to inside. The prevalence of travertine, combined with the use of raw materials such as oak and concrete, echoes with a time dear to Isabel Marant and reminds of the 20th century’s modernist architecture codes. The space, based on a central courtyard, consists of two rooms. The willowy furniture, made of solid oak sapwood with a unique patina, sorts the space between a living room and an exhibit area. The last room, designed as a dressing room, reveals a large glazed roof and a space dedicated to the Étoile line and jewelry. It also includes four fitting rooms covered with Japanese straw and a jute floor.
